Song of a Source (2022)
Song of a Source is the graduation project I created for my Master’s in Sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. This sculptural installation refers to the deconstruction and abstraction of the components of a human body.
Song of a Source is the graduation project I created for my Master’s in Sculpture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp. This sculptural installation refers to the deconstruction and abstraction of the components of a human body.
By approaching the concept of a body as a shell or casing that carries many separate yet interconnected objects, these objects take on their own form and story. I have translated the fragmented aspects of the body into abstracted and absurd representations of the organs, tissues, or bone structures they truly are.
This installation invites the audience to immerse themselves in an environment that encourages curiosity about an alternative world, absurd forms, and diverse materials.
textile, wool, ceramics, acrylic1, gyproc, spraypaint, fish pump.
