Sting of Poison 2023, UNFAIR AMSTERDAM
Sting of Poison is part of a series of two sculptures embodying the largest flower in the world: the Rafflesia Arnoldii. The sculptures express a fleshy softness in contradiction with the sharpness of the metal spikes. This contradiction shows both sides of living organisms; a soft innocence and a sharp, dangerous side.

This work depicts the Amorphophallus titanum. The Amorphophallus titanum has the largest unbranched inflorescence in the world and this plant consists of several sexes. The female flower opens first, followed in a few days by the male flower, allowing the plant to self-pollinate.
